This was a collab project with my husband, Sean, by creating replicas of the Singing Busts from Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. as this was our foray into projection mapping in conjunction with network-sync’d lighting for a themed Halloween light show we created for our community.
2024 Build:
Fabricate the singing bust props, map them to a projection of a video of the original actors singing Grim Grinning Ghosts.
Create a proof-of-concept using Unreal Engine by creating 3D face renders inspired by the original singers of Grim Grinning Ghosts and rigging them to animations of our own faces so that WE could create and record own version for how each of these busts interact with each other for the show.
Design and setup a network architecture to handle real-time (ie, as low latency as possible!!!!!!!) system that could support the various show components we had (lights, sound, video, motion)
We’re iterating on a version for 2025 and onwards with our own original, music-driven animations.
